The Mores - When a man loves another man

Release date:
20 Apr 2009

Superb debut from London indie newcomers. Jangly guitars, hooky pianos and a rousing lead vocal – British songwriting at its best.

When a man loves another man

April 20th 2009 sees the release of When a man loves another man, the debut single from The Mores. When a man loves another man is a honeyed spoonful of classic British pop twinned with the coming of age anthem Life after life on the flip.

In early 2008 The Mores emerged from the infamous, bohemian underground that is Cable Street Studios, home to the likes of The Strokes svengali Gordon Raphael, and set about taking the live scene by storm.  On one side they are Robbie Moore and Ed Grimshaw, both hardened indie stalwarts with Blur and Babyshambles tours under their belts, and on the other, conservatoire alumni Alex Metcalfe and Debs Prichard, classical musicians equally at home in the London Symphony Orchestra or the cloisters of Oxford University.

Whatever their pedigree, The Mores are a breath of fresh air and with a bucket full of instant classics at their finger tips are definitely one to watch for 2009.

When a man loves another man is released on April 20th on Ambiguous Records – available on limited edition vinyl and iTunes.
